The homeowners asking for an October election say current Board members can still run. Their August 20 community update explains the request and asks neighbors to keep the discussion respectful.
For clarity, this is not a petition to remove anyone, and nothing in the notice prevents any currently serving Board member from seeking election.
The post explains the notice sent to the Board and Associa that day. It asks for written confirmation of the election process.
The homeowners point to Section 11(d) of the Covenants, which calls for at least one Board member to be elected at each Annual Meeting. They also say the first election after the “Applicable Date” should set one-, two- and three-year terms. Those terms would end in different years.
The post describes the issue as a possible misunderstanding that could be fixed by reading the documents. It asks everyone to treat neighbors with respect.
In the comments, a Board member said the attorney would review the issue. He also said a special election was not needed. Banvich replied that the request concerned the annual meeting already scheduled for October 21.
